Comments:

WOW! Life has been pretty wild since high school. I tried the college thing but I was kidding myself- I was not a good student in high school and so I was not a good student in college. So off to the Navy I went. I was stationed on the USS Nimitz a huge aircraft carrier. I did 2 different deployments in the Arabian Gulf; one for Desert Storm and the other Operation Southern Watch.

I was in the Navy that I bowed my knee to the Leading and Lordship of Christ. I really had no idea what He had in store for me. After the Navy, I was finally ready for college. I desired to become an electrical engineer so I started to take classes that supported that path. Very early on though, God called me into fulltime Christian service. Looking back, I am so glad I did not become an engineer because I really do not like math?.

So began a journey that has been amazing! I have been working with junior high and high school students for the past 14 years or so. I started working with student’s right in the Milford area with Youth for Christ. I also started to go to school at William Tyndale College, a small bible college in Farmington Hills and then I graduated in 2001 with a BA in Youth and Pastoral Studies with a minor in Christian Thought. From there God placed me in Ann Arbor for 3 years. I really loved being in A2 and being there near U of M. But that was an internship that needed to end. That is when I went to the Trenton / Downriver area. I was a Youth Director for a large church and it was here where I met my wonderful wife Kelly! We were married on May 25, 2003 and started another amazing journey as a husband.

After we got married, Kelly and I really felt God moving us to plant a church. So we packed up our stuff and moved to Mars. Mars Pennsylvania that is, which is about an hour north of Pittsburgh. Here our son Noah was born and then started yet another journey as a father. The church plant did not go as we as hoped and the denomination decided to discontinue to the work. Then a door opened for us to go to Virginia.

We were an Associate Pastor in Virginia for about 3 years. We loved being so close to the ocean and we really liked the warmer weather, well at least I did. It was also in VA that we decided it was time to pursue my Masters degree. Who would have imagined that I would have been going to school for a Masters Degree? At the time of this writing, I still have about 5 classes and will be graduating sometime in 2010 with a Masters of Divinity. In 2007, we gave birth to our second child Abigail. After she was born, we really had an itch to get back to Michigan and be closer to family. A door opened in the great white north of Michigan in Cadillac. We spent a year there and God closed the door. Amazingly, Kelly got a job in the Detroit area and we moved to the downriver area. God has proved Himself faithful by providing us with a Senior Pastor position at Grace Church in Allen Park. So the next chapter has been opened and the journey continues...

School Story:

Band trip up to Traverse City when all three buses got pulled over by the police. "SHAVING CREAM OUT THE WINDOW!" Need I say more. Good times.
